Nashville filmmaker debuts energy-saving documentary

Nashville Business Journal

The Nashville filmmaker for the award-winning documentary “Kilowatt Ours” will debut his latest energy saving short film next week.

The film, titled “Jeff and Heather’s Home Energy Tips,” shows why and how to stop leaks of air and energy to keep energy costs down. It’s aimed at helping viewers save thousands of dollars with simple, small energy-minded tasks.

“This film really shows how small changes all add up to big savings -- in money, natural resources and time,” filmmaker Jeff Barrie says.

The premiere event will be held at Icon in the Gulch on from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. March 12. Free parking is provided in the garage. A $25 donation is suggested. Click here for more information.

Just prior, members of the mayor’s Green Ribbon Committee will attend a personal screening of the original film, “Kilowatt Ours,” aimed at promoting energy conservation

That film claimed awards like Best Documentary Feature at the South Dakota Film Festival, and the film was an official selection of the 11th United Nations Association Film Festival.

Kilwatt Ours is a project of Trust for the Future, a nonprofit organization.
